My name is Carmen Durán Jerez and I am a translator of English and French. I hold a degree in Translation and Interpreting from the University of Granada and I am also a Sworn Translator of French, accredited by the Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation (MAEC).
Additionally, I have specialized in commercial translation (Diplôme de Traducteur Commercial from the Alliance Française in Paris) and reverse translation (Reverse Translation from International House, Barcelona). In the field of education, I have trained in the teaching of Spanish as a foreign language (Spanish as a Foreign Language Teacher Training, CLIC-ih International House, Seville), and I hold a Master’s Degree in Secondary and Upper Secondary Education, Vocational Training and Language Teaching from the University of Seville.
I have over 18 years of experience in the field of translation. I began my journey in this profession as an in-house English and French translator at a major engineering company in Seville, where I mainly specialized in technical translation. This experience, which lasted for over eight years, provided me with extensive technical and professional expertise.
While working in-house, I also started freelancing, dedicating my spare time to technical, economic-financial, commercial, and legal translation, and of course, sworn translation, due to the high demand in this area.
In 2016, new opportunities brought me back to Granada, where I have continued working as a translator, collaborating with clients from various sectors, including both individuals and large companies—not only from Granada or Seville but from all over. I combine this work with language teaching.
